NTUMBACHUSHI WATERFALLS

The Commission has 200 hectares of land at Ntumbachushi Falls earmarked for investment in tourism related facilities, infrastructure or a combination of tourism activities. Ntumbachushi Falls is located in Kawambwa District of Luapula Province on the Muchinga Escarpment along the Ng’ona River approximately 15 kilometres west of Kawambwa Boma.

KUNDALILA WATERFALLS

The Commission has earmarked land at Kundalila Falls for investment in tourism related facility, infrastructure or a combination of tourism activities. The Kundalila Waterfall Site is accessed by a 13km long paved all weather track connecting the site to the Great North Road. Within the monument area is a Car Park, one visitor’s resting thatched hut and water borne toilet. The car park area is used as a campsite as well. About one hundred metres down the slope is a small footbridge across the Kanona River. The bridge is built by overlaying pieces of timber on the huge metal bar across the river.

LUMANGWE/KABWELUME WATERFALLS

The Lumangwe/Kabwelume Waterfalls Site is located 90km from Mporokoso in Northern Province and 70km from Kawambwa in Luapula Province. The waterfalls lie along the Kalungwishi River and form the boundary between Mporokoso and Kawambwa Districts in Northern and Luapula Provinces respectively. The site comprises three waterfalls namely; the smaller Chimpempe Falls, the Lumangwe Falls which is the Second largest waterfall in Zambia, and the Kabwelume Falls.

The National Heritage Conservation Commission (NHCC) now invites interested parties willing to invest in tourism related business at these sites. Bidders are advised to indicate the type of development they would like to undertake and the extent of the available land they need. Interested bidders can obtain a bidding document from the National Heritage Conservation Commission, Northern Region Offices, located at Plot Number 118, Independence Avenue, Kasama or request it by email to hendrixmofya@gmail.com and bsimakole@yahoo.com upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ZMW5, 000 in cash or bank certified cheque. The bids clearly marked “Lease of Land for Tourism Development at Ntumbachushi Falls” addressed to the Acting Executive Director should be deposited in the tender box located at National Heritage Conservation Commission Headquarters, Plot 9304, Dedan Kimathi Road, Lusaka.
